“Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.” Saint Jerome As Catholics, we should know our Bible. But sometimes Scripture can be intimidating, hard to understand, and even confusing. One of the ways to combat this is to study the books of the Bible in community, in a reliable and trustworthy environment that follows the guidance of the Church. That is exactly what we will be doing with the book of Hebrews, a book of Scripture that is powerful, beautiful, informative, and also a bit confusing at times. We are going to journey through Scripture together, removing the obstacles and harvesting the fruit and goodness.
Hebrews: The New and Eternal Covenant is an 8-week Bible study program that takes Catholics on a guided tour of what is considered the “Holy of Holies” of biblical theology. The book of Hebrews is steeped in rich truths about our Catholic Faith, almost like a second Catechism. Yet, it’s veiled in a deeply mysterious language and hidden among highly refined theological concepts, which can be difficult for even the most seasoned Bible scholars to unpack. Presented by Dr. Andrew Swafford and Jeff Cavins, this study program draws out the meaning of the book of Hebrewsin a simple way so Catholics can see, appreciate, and take hold of the riches God has giventhem. It’s a wonderful time to join us!
