God loves each of us as if there were only one of us. St. Augustine
God loves us; he loves each and every one of us. Yes, it is easy to love those that love you back, show it, or include you in their lives. Yet, how do you respond to those who harm you, turn their back on you, or fail to welcome? An encounter that all of us face from time to time- for we all have been injured- and long for true friendship and reciprocated love.
The love that God gives is the LOVE that we must ask to have within our own hearts. Our hearts alone cannot make this earthly journey. We are incapable of loving those that hurt us without the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary. There must be an asking- for God to help- and to make our heart like that of His. It is true, just because we choose to love does not mean that we will be accepted, wanted, or receive love in return. But Love is what we are called to be!
Sadly, in our society people look for love in all the wrong places, create their version of love in their own image, and sin abounds. The volume of sinfulness is crying out and the prince of darkness is prowling and seeking to devour. The answer to it all remains the same - Love! But it must be a love that is pure, unselfish, and seeks the greater good. Journey onward in love, with a transformed heart - for it is here where True Love resides. Live in me, O Sacred Hearts!
